Watercolors are a perfect medium for aesthetic, meditative attention. Being so fluid, watercolors are juicy and alive and often seem to have a mind of their own. Artists of all levels of experience are welcome to these classes where we will explore different facets of painting with this luscious medium. Class size is limited so classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. Your check is your receipt. A materials list and map will be sent upon registration. All classes meet here in my studio, 835 W. Lomita Ave., Meiners Oaks, from 9 am -3 pm, bring your lunch - snacks and drinks are provided. Tuesday and Saturday classes of each month contain the same content. Classes are $45 each or if you sign up for a series of 10 classes, you get one free - Tuesday Series or Saturday Series - $400. Very excited about this - The Ojai Group is sponsoring Open Studio at the Ojai Center for the Arts all summer long. Every Wednesday, starting June 2, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm come and work with other artists in an inspiring setting. It's a great way to break out of the isolation of always doing art on your own -  so join us for coffee, company and great space! No instructions or materials are provided, bring whatever you are working on. No registration or reservations are required, drop ins are welcome - but its a great way to make a commitment to yourself to paint on a regular basis. Fee is $10 per session, cash only please.    We'll meet outside the entrance and carpool to drive in - there is a $10 entrance fee per car. We'll drive to the boat docks and spread out from there - boats, lake, trees, cafe, etc.

  Learn to critique your own work and the work of others. Cathy will demonstrate her method of critiquing and instruct the group on how to take your paintings to the next level. Each person will bring 1-3 paintings, and get a personal review of their work. Everyone will greatly benefit from hearing each of the sessions. Cathy will talk about the elements of design and answer these common questions: Is the painting done yet?  What is wrong with the composition?  Should I contiue or throw it away?
   The workshop will start at 9am, everyone will drop off their paintings in the studio and while Cathy looks over the art, brunch will be served under the oaks. The critique will start around 10am and we will have a short coffee break at noon. After the break we will continue until 2 pm. Class size is limited.
